In the plus size world, finding the best fitting and most flattering clothes is often a challenge. Most nice looking garments seem to have been designed for women who are no more than a size 6 or 8, making shopping for plus size clothes particularly challenging. Structured womens coats can create a narrowing effect around the waist area and widen the hips to achieve a flattering, hourglass shape. Frock coats achieve the same delightful effect as well. While belted coats can also help achieve a narrow waistline, they are best avoided by women with a bit of tummy fat, as this can only emphasize that area, which would be better off disguised.

Other considerations in choosing a full figure coat include color. Black doesn’t have to be the only color for a plus sized woman. She can choose virtually any color she likes, as long as the cut flatters her in all the right places and, of course, keeps her warm and looking stylish.
